Diospyros crassinervis, commonly called Feather Bed, is a dense evergreen shrub or small tree typically growing 6-20 feet (2-6 m) tall.

Plants may be male or female (dioecious)
Fruit
Small, round berry yellow berry turning dark purple or black when ripe
Contains several seeds

Habitat
Grows in Dry Broadleaf Evergreen Formation: Forests and Shrublands (coppice/scrublands).
Distribution
Occurs throughout the Lucayan Archipelago as well as Cuba and Hispaniola.
Ecological Importance
Drought-hardy limestone palm; supports native insects and provides nesting/perching habitat.
Cultural Notes
Used medicinally in strengthening teas for male virility and additionally used for gastrointestinal issues to induce vomiting.
Wood is dense and strong.
